Babatunde Olatotun, or as Coach Joel Barkers calls him, ‘Baba,’ is a lean forward perfect for today’s game with his perimeter-oriented offensive skill. Watching him play, you’ll notice he has a smooth release of the rock, making him an excellent catch-and-shoot player.
Babatunde “Baba” Oladotun
Baba is from Silver Spring, MD and plays high school ball with Dematha Catholic and Team Durant on the Nike Circuit. At 6’7”, Babatunde is bigger than most 8th grade forwards, so he easily shoots over defenders, making him difficult to guard.
During an after-game interview, Joel Barkers had nothing but praise for Baba. According to him, Babatunde completes group basketball training and works out sometimes four times a day, and each and every work, he is consistent. He has a passion for the game and approaches it like someone much older than his years.
Though inexperienced compared to the basketball greats, his consistency will pay off and set him apart with ease.
According to Coach Joel, the next thing on Baba’s list is mastering his pick-and-roll, to take his game to the next level. Just entering his freshman year of high school, Baba will only continue to become more athletic, making him a force on the court!
College level
Although he is just starting his Freshman year of High School, Babatunde already has a recruiting offer at Bryant. He is also seeing interest from Maryland, DePaul, and Virginia Tech.
