Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant has made his mark on the game as one of the most influential athletes of the recent era. He was born in Washington D.C. and played high school basketball at Montrose Christian School in Rockville, Maryland. Durant went on to play college basketball at the University of Texas before being drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007. He has since played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors, winning two NBA championships with the latter.
Michael Jordan
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Jordan is widely considered to be the greatest basketball player of all time. Jordan was a five-time NBA MVP and six-time NBA Finals MVP, winning six NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls. He is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning his first gold medal in 1984 as a member of the United States men’s basketball team.
Ronald Darby
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Ronald Darby is a cornerback for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. He played his college football at Florida State University, where he was a two-time ACC champion and one-time national champion. Darby was drafted by the Bills in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Michael Beasley
Michael Beasley is a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He was born in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and played his high school basketball at National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Maryland. Beasley went on to play college basketball at Kansas State University before being drafted by the Miami Heat with the second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He has also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks.
Jordan Hawkins
Jordan Hawkins is a guard for the NBA G League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and played high school basketball at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria. Hawkins went on to play college basketball at George Mason University before going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. He has also played for the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League.
